Due to the memorial’s location, the team had to work fast to accommodate traffic management, tree surgeons and other landscapers contracted to help with the restoration of the site.
We excavated the loose gravel surfacing from the plot, installed new steel edging, a permeable asphalt base (to help prevent weed growth and surface water pooling) and an attractive morning mist
resin bound surfacing to finish. Resin bound surfacing was installed for the commercial surfacing project thanks to its low-maintenance properties, increased resistance to high footfall and attractive appearance.
Paired with the additional work of tree surgeons working on the 136 surrounding lime trees, and planting of native wildflowers and poppies to commemorate those who died in service, the Warwickshire WW1 Monument is now a beautiful area for people and wildlife to visit.
